Salina Art Center

Goal: $3,000.00

Specific Need

Match funding from Match Madness provides scholarships, pays teaching artists, and purchases supplies for hands-on art-making experiences. By reducing financial barriers often associated with quality art experiences, Salina Art Center attracts diverse audiences from all backgrounds. We believe art is for everyone.

  • $10 in match funds can purchase a pound of clay for ceramics classes
  • $30 in match funds can provide a scholarship for After School Studio to a child. Scholarships ensure art education is accessible to everyone.
  • $100 in match funds can provide a scholarship to a student to participate in advanced artistic studies.
  • $300 in match funds can fund a creative and exciting teaching artist for a classroom of 12 curious young artmakers.

The goal of the Salina Art Center Endowment is to ensure a legacy of high-quality arts education and programming at Salina Art Center. By growing the endowment, the Art Center has a sustainable budget to provide scholarships that reduce the financial barrier to high-quality art experiences and secure salaries for high-quality teaching artists far into the future.

In 2023, $6,633.77 from Match Madness went toward scholarships and teaching stipends.

Mission

...to create exchanges among art, artists, and audiences that reveal life.

Profile

Salina Art Center believes the arts are fundamental to humanity. The arts develop creative thinkers and doers needed to excel in a global economy. At the Art Center we enrich, inspire, educate, engage and foster creativity at any age. Everything we do creates exchanges among artist, art and audiences that reveal life. Through art, we learn more about ourselves while learning to understand others.

The Art Center’s programming is connected to a schedule of contemporary visual art exhibitions of work by regional, national, and international artists in a wide variety of media. Exhibitions serve as a catalyst for generating conversations around ideas and issues relevant to personal and community development. The Art Center carries out its mission through artist, education, exhibition, film and video, and outreach programs designed to provide constituents with opportunities for meaningful experiences through active encounters with viewing and making visual art.
