Mission

“To provide through Christian ministry: food, clothing, shelter and other basic needs and offer the rehabilitative teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Profile

The Salina Rescue Mission has been caring for our homeless neighbors and those at-risk of homelessness for 45 years.

Our Food Service Program is the only one in our region of Kansas of its kind.

- Provides 3 meals a day

- 7 days a week

- 365 days a year

- Our food service program is open to ANYONE in our community.  Our kitchen never closes so that everyone in our community never has to go hungry.

We are not your typical homeless shelter.

- First goal is to help people step out of crisis and into stability by providing food, clothing, shelter and other basic needs (such as healthcare and/or getting ID).

- As a person stabilizes, we make individualized assessments of their needs that becomes their Care Plan.

- We offer 3 programs: Employment Program, Supportive Health Program, and New Life Program.

Employment Program

- Offer classes and assistance to help men find jobs.

- We average an 80% success rate in helping men to get a Full-Time job within 30 days.

- Teach budgetting along with preparing plans to pay off debts, save money, and learn how to be disciplined with one's finances.

- Develop a relapse prevention plan to break the cycles that led to homelessness.

- Identify and move into suitable housing.

Supportive Health Program

- For those unable to work due to physical or mental disabilities, and for those who are beyond their working years.

- Set goals and implement a plan for meeting one's healthcare needs.

- Work with men who are applying for Disability.

- For those with income, financial literacy training, scam/fraud awareness, budgetting

- Idenify and move into suitable housing.

New Life Program

For men who desire to build a new life based on a relationship with the Lord.

Phase 1 - Understanding our Addiction, and our Relationship with the Lord.

Phase 2 - Following Jesus, learning to walk and live in our new identity in Christ.

Phase 3 - Developing and Practicing conflict resolution skills.

Phase 4 - Learning to Serve, volunteering / giving back to the community.
